From the title of blog it looks like it's a blog about a very boring lecture. But surprisingly it isn't.!!
Second day of PGDIM course started with surprises. Prof. Mandi i.e Prof. T. Prasad entered the classroom, went towards the stage, sat on the floor and asked us to come forward and join him. But this wasn't the surprise, because then came toys, surprise element for management class, out of the bag of Prof. Mandi. For me he looked like a magician with his bag full of surprises. While we were observing the Newton's Cradle,a self balancing butterfly and a Ball, he was explaining us principles of management. Which included making business of small things about which people are unaware (eg Newton's Cradle, which excited our curiosity about it's working).
In Newton's cradle, when one sphere is set in motion, one on the other side gets triggered. The phenomena can be explained by Newton's momentum principle. Similar phenomena happens when two spheres are set in motion. This explains that how much you give, you'll get it back. Now comes the case of having three spheres triggered. It explained the consumer behaviour, that is, one having surplus will give to the one with deficiency.

Ball and Balancing butterfly
Ball and butterfly gave us the vision to look at things differently.
While explaining 'Earning from learning and Learning from earning', Prof. Mandi explained us MANDI, which stands as hallmark in NITIE's curriculum. The purpose of MANDI is not just to practice the classroom concepts of Marketing, Principles of Management, Business Economics, and Accounting in the real field. But also to make a difference in the lives of thousands of children who lose out on basic education and to impart an additional dimension to the learning of the students who buy these toys. The entire amount collected is donated to the NGO.
At the end of the lecture he asked us to write a blog about the first class. Again this was the thing which we can't expect generally. But it was Prof Mandi's class!!
